The numerous historical remains, monuments and architectures of Morbihan will make you immerse in the prehistoric or medieval periods. Our little “cités de caractère”, medieval cities, art and history cities will delight the history lovers.
Go in search of the vestiges of the people who have succeeded in Vannes, this two thousand year old town… walk for Auray to discover its timbered houses and its charming little port of Saint-Goustan. Don’t miss Lorient, you will be surprised by the only French modern town having the label “Ville d’Art et d’Histoire”.
If you prefer a castle-like life, Morbihan is for you! More than 1000 castles, manor houses and other monuments attest the great historic times of the Département.
You can still travel in more remote times by studying the place where you will find the biggest concentration of megaliths in the world in Carnac or Montneuf.
